Rasulullah (sallalahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:
“Whoever recites blessings upon me ten times in the morning and ten times in the evening will obtain my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.”
Haithami’s Majma’ Az-Zawa’id 10/120, and Al-Albani’s Sahih At-Targhib Wat-Tarhib 1/273
At-Tabrani reported this Hadith together with two chain of transmissions. One of them is reliable (Jayyid).
We may recite any of the longer forms of Durood taught in ahadith, such as Durood-e-Ibrahimi, or a shortened form such as:
“اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ”
O Allah, we ask you for peace and blessings upon our prophet Muhammad
Our hearts should be filled with the love of Rasulullah (sallalahu ‘alaihi wasallam) as a natural consequence of knowing him and believing in him. Consequently, our tongues should always be moist with sending blessings on him. Ten times in the morning and evening is the bare minimum all of us should try to stick to. And look at the incentive we have been given: His intercession on the day we will all need it. May Allah fulfill this glad tiding for us.
Two years back, when, I think, some cartoon controversy or the other was raging, I wrote a heartfelt piece about our relationship with our Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wasllam). I’m going to share some excerpts with you all here:
Imagine the day when every identity of yours will become irrelevant.
The day when no one will care which country you are from, which language you speak, whose son or daughter or husband or wife you are.
The day when your education, career, political affiliations and social circles- all will amount to fluff. No one will be bothered or impressed. You, yourself, will forget all your identities as you stand naked, before the Master of the worlds, on that terrifying day.
Every person you were affiliated to in this world, will be ready to disown you and offer you in ransom. Not one will be ready to speak in your favour. No prophet, no wali, no teacher, no leader, no parent, no child- no one will care for anyone.
The one identity and affiliation that will be valuable there, will be that of being from the Ummah of Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wasallam). He is the only man who will care for you, even on that day; he is the only man who will intercede on your behalf, when no other human being is willing.
We need to rekindle the love of this identity in our heart. Our greatest honour, should lie in the fact, that we are from the Ummah of Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wasallam).
He is a man who is so easy to love, yet our hearts seem to be diseased. He is a man whose beauty, perfection and love for us shines through so clearly, yet our hearts seem to be blinded.
May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
He was by far, the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He was a religious teacher, a social reformer, a moral guide, a just ruler, a faithful friend, a devoted husband and a loving father – all in one.
He loved us more than our parents could ever love us.
He wept for us in the depths of the night.
He only wished the best for us.
He worried for us.
He wished to meet us. He called us his brothers.
We have in him, a perfect role model.
He conveyed the best religion to us.
He lived the Quran for us to see and follow.
He left us on a Straight Path, which leads straight to Jannah.
The Best of Allah’s Creation. May peace and blessings be upon him.
Through him, Allah unsealed and unlocked people’s hearts, and opened their eyes and ears, and saved them from the pit of Fire. His Prophethood is a great favour upon us. Allah says:
“Indeed Allah conferred a great favour on the believers, when He sent among them a Messenger from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses, and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and Wisdom, while before that they had been in manifest error.”(Surah ale-Imran:164)
Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on us!
Very written Ma-sha’Allah
