Perfectly Imperfect
Oftentimes, in our life comes a situation where we tend to question the situation and end up asking “why me?” Sometimes things get worse beyond our thinking and many times we all fall in our life. We try to fix the problems we are facing but they become more chaotic, so ultimately we quit and feel utmost helpless.
It feels like a dark pit around us, in which we have to live forever! But things start getting better and eventually, everything becomes settled. That is the turning point when we start to comprehend the situation better and form a personality that knows how to tackle such distress in life. isn’t it a blessing?
As Muslims, we believe that nothing happens to us accidentally. Allah has pre-planned every incident so beautifully that takes place in our lives, for how long and when it may occur. So it means these struggles are already written in Loh-e-Mahfooz (a place where the decrees of Allah are kept). But why? Have you ever thought about it? Of course, it is for a reason that only Allah knows and He reveals to us whenever He wants to.
According to science, we are capable of walking because of friction (a force between two surfaces that are sliding across each other.) If friction isn’t there, we could fly. Likewise, these bumps and pits act as friction in our life to keep us walking in order to reach our destination.
Most of the time, life is just a blessing in disguise. Hardships come and go, by the timed planning of Allah, who is the best of planners. But what they leave behind is always a lesson. We don’t pay attention to learn from this lesson, or we try to run away from the reality.
Imagine, if there was no struggle in life? Would people really know the worth of the blessings that our Creator has bestowed upon us?
Only an empty stomach and a starving person can feel the need for food, not a person with a full stomach.
And only that person could enjoy the cool wind, who has experienced the hot blazes and that person is much sensible about the affair of life. He tackles them like a warrior.
With time, things get settled, and many of us realize only later, that it wasn’t something terrific to be worried about.
It happens because of an impatient behaviour and lack of acceptance. We close our eyes from the reality of pains that are a part of our life. Allah wants to open those closed eyes just for our own good.
As Allah SWT says:
“Verily we have created man into hardship” (Surah Al-Balad, 90:4)
So hardships are as obvious as death. They are here to prepare you for your destination. Your hurdles break you to build you! Your heartbreaks assure you that there is no one trustworthy except Allah SWT.
The real dilemma begins when we forget the promise that our souls have made to our Lord. We forget that we will be questioned on a day when this temporary life will end and eternal life will begin!
Allah SWT says in the Quran:
“And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter – that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew” [Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:64]
We live in this world with a YOLO mindset. But in reality, we will be resurrected.
When the materials start mattering more than spirituality to us, then Allah reminds us of the reality of this world through the trials we have to go through.
We need to let go of our negative mindset and adopt a positive outlook on life and Allah (SWT). Allah never does wrong to a soul. How can He harm you who is Al-Wadood by Himself? The one who loves unconditionally!
“Not a leaf falls but Allah knows” then how can we imagine He doesn’t hear and He doesn’t respond. No! He is Ever-Near and responds to those who obey him and think positively of Him. So we must stop doubting our faith. We need to just bow down to our knees and raise our hands to ask the One who is Al-Sa’mee (who hears the most). Who never ignores our calls to Him and who always gives chances upon chances to repent when we make a mistake.
Never question why me? Life is a test and a test is for everyone. Our experiences build us. Every soul is tested with something. Some people really rest themselves in the hands of Allah and some just stress themselves and others. Don’t be someone who advertises their problems to others but never shares them with Allah, who is Al-Salam (the source of peace). Be a giver and never give up. Only then your trials can become your treasure, your stepping stones to get the pleasure of Allah. And never forget
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
“So verily, with hardship, there is relief” [Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5]
Such a blessing that Allah never leaves us and never says “I helped you so many times but now I’m done. Never! Because He is Al-Hayee (the Sustainer).
So accept your imperfect life as it is only to mould you into perfectness.
