From Zero to Da’ee Hero: Be the Light that Inspires Others!

Mission Possible: Your Dawah Quest Begins!  Let’s be real – being a teen Muslim in today’s world is like having a superpower that’s just waiting to be unleashed! You’ve got something unique that others don’t: you speak the language of both faith and modern life.  Sure, the idea of sharing Islam might seem as daunting as a final exam you haven’t studied for, but here’s the secret – you’re already equipped for this mission! Think about it: you navigate social media, juggle different friend groups, and switch between “parent mode” and “friend mode” like a pro.  Those skills? They’re your dawah superpowers in disguise! Plus, being young means people are naturally curious about your perspective. You don’t need to be a scholar or have a beard down to your chest – your authenticity and real-life experiences are your greatest tools. Level Up Your Sources Before you hit that “Share Islam” button, let’s power up your knowledge bar! Think of authentic Islamic knowledge like choosing your player character’s equipment – you want the best gear, right? Start by connecting with qualified local scholars (yes, those awesome people at your mosque who actually studied Islam for years!). They’re like your master trainers in this journey! Then move onto Islamic courses and finally, read up books about whichever topic that you’re into.  Browse trusted websites, they’re your premium knowledge shops with fact-checked content. For learning dawah skills, organisations offer specialised training programs that are like skill-building side quests. Plus, many have youth

Top 7 things I like about Pakistani Weddings

Pakistani #shaadis are a whirlwind of emotions, laughter, glitter, glam, and memories rekindled. The wedding season feels like a whole era of being surrounded by love, joy, and a bit of chaos (okay, maybe a whole lot of chaos!).  From spending hours figuring out how to drape that chiffon dupatta to enduring endless miles of travel and negotiating with the catering uncle, these moments remind us why we love our weddings so much. And just like we covered the top seven things we dislike about Pakistani weddings, today we’re highlighting everything we adore. Let’s dive into the moments that make it all worth it! 1. Nikah in the Masjid There’s something profoundly serene about attending a Nikah in the Masjid. It’s a moment that makes you reflect on the sacredness of the bond and the beauty of the relationship. Alhamdulillah, more and more young couples are choosing to tie the knot in the Masjid. 2. The Awesome Khutbah Nikah khutbahs may feel routine, often due to our limited understanding of Arabic. But when you truly understand what’s being said, they make you reflect and think, “Wow, marriage is a serious commitment!” Real talk mixed with heartfelt reminders about your duties to Allah (SWT) and your spouse? Yes, please. You leave not just inspired but spiritually fulfilled—like your soul just had its own little feast! 3. Tiny Humans in Ghararas & Three-Piece Suits Don’t you just love them? They are cuteness personified; and the way they pop out from underneath

Careless Whispers

We silently adore and idealise a friend who is chatty, funny, and entertains all those around them with their charm and wit. We try to imitate that relative, who is outspoken such that when they speak, they outclass others’ opinions. He or she may sound harsh but their point is clear. The biggest trolls on social media amuse us the most. The question arises, in the name of entertainment and argument, have we lowered the standards of speech, humor, criticism and conversation. Our style of speaking and choice of words definitely have a significant effect upon others that in return affect our akhirah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “A slave (of Allah) may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him to degrees (of reward). A slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.” [Bukhari – 6478] It is our speech that may take us to Jannah or throw us into Hellfire. Therefore, we must not be heedless in our speech. So, let us reflect on how we should be using the blessing of speech. First of all, it is not necessary to talk excessively in order to seek everyone’s attention. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not an excessive talker nor did he ever speak vainly. And yet, when he spoke, everybody was attentive to his words. He advised

Yearly Planner 2025

You know that feeling when you stumble upon something so perfect it feels like it was tailor-made just for you? That’s this planner. Not the kind that gets shoved into a drawer after January, but the one that sticks with you—organising your life and actually elevating it. Let’s be real: life? It’s messy. Overwhelming. A little too chaotic at times. This planner won’t magically fix everything (sorry, no magic wands included), but it will make things easier. More intentional. And yes, a little more fabulous. But here’s where it gets deeper—this planner isn’t just about you; it’s about something bigger. The Muslim Ummah has been going through a lot in the last few decades. And the change we want in the world? It starts with the plans we make today. Every choice, every prayer, every goal brings you closer to rebuilding what matters most. This planner is one of the steps to reclaiming our lost legacy! So, folks, you gotta decide! 2025 is knocking. Ask yourself: do you want to make it about the change you’ve always hoped to see in yourself? Or will you stay loyal to the meaningless same-old, same-old chaos? Whatever you decide, it’s your choice. But one thing is clear—you will NEVER regret this investment. That’s for sure. After all, investing in yourself is never a bad move. In fact, it’s the best move. And this planner? It’s just the beginning. Your actions—yes, YOUR ACTIONS—today, shape the Ummah of tomorrow. Choose wisely! Head over to

YC Blog’s Top 5

Familiar faces and a hit jori (couple), Barzakh comes in the guise of your drawing room dramas. But when an agenda knocks, do we welcome it inside? The blog post received widespread attention, amassing an unprecedented 9,785+ likes as readers uncovered the show’s filthy agenda hidden beneath its fancy packaging. People see a guy with a #beard and, more often than not, assume this guy must hate life. The truth is, bearded men know how to have fun, smile, or even laugh hysterically sometimes. This fun and relatable post delved into common stereotypes surrounding Muslim beards. It highlighted how quickly society tends to label men with beards as #maulvis. Hijabis are dimwits or brainwashed: Their heads are covered. Not the brains. Speak to a modern-day hijabi and you’d know. From misconceptions like “hijabis don’t dress up” to concerns such as “it must be hot in there,” and from innocent assumptions like “hijabis must have boring lives” to the odd belief that “hijabis don’t get good proposals,” this witty and eye-opening post was every hijabi’s dream come true! TEMU doesn’t just sell products; it sells a toxic ideology of perpetual consumption. Behind those incredibly cheap products are workers earning cents per hour, often in conditions you’d never tolerate. The powerful narrative exposed the dark side of Temu, from weaponizing instant gratification and personal data breaches to poor-quality products and harsh work environments. It raises critical questions about the trends we choose to promote. The moment dinner is announced, all sophistication

Toxic Vibes? Here’s How to Protect Your Mental Peace!

‘Bro, he’s so toxic’, ‘You know what? She just has a toxic vibe’, ‘I don’t understand why she keeps spreading her toxicity everywhere!’, ‘He’s just a walking example of being toxic’ – Some of the phrases you must have heard a lot lately (won’t be wrong to assume that you may have said any of these statements at some point too!) Toxic – Do you know what it is? ‘I mean, I do. It means someone who just doesn’t click with my energy and puts me in a bad mood after every interaction’. Okay, hold on. Let’s see the psychological definition of toxic first. Interestingly, per Psychology Today, toxic is not a formal psychological word but rather descriptive of how people feel about interactions with certain individuals. In simple terms, it’s a side effect of interactions where boundaries are often blurred. In this article, let’s try to figure out a way to deal with toxic people! But Who are Toxic People? As per Mental Health America, some of the common traits of toxic people are: I get you, while reading these traits, there might be some people popping into your mind and you might be thinking ‘See, I was right about him/her. He/she carries all these traits’. But, here’s the catch, as per a study, 84% of women and 75% of men report having to deal with a toxic friend at some point. Doesn’t it make evident that you might also have been considered toxic by your friends at

Significance of Muharram – Honouring The holy month

The youngest kid in your neighbourhood will most likely be aware of the significance of Ramadan. Many people also understand the importance of Dhul Hajj. But Muharram? That’s often looked at and lived through as one of the regular months.  And why is that wrong?  What’s the significance of Muharram?  Why should we honour it more than other months? We will answer all of that and more in this blog.  Understanding the Significance of Muharram  Most Muslims carry on with their regular routines during Muharram. This is mainly because of our lack of understanding of the significance of this holy month.  The month of Muharram holds immense significance for various reasons. Some of these include: Declared Sanctity Muharram is from among the four months that Allah (SWT) declares Sacred in the Quran. We learn from Surah at-Tawbah:  “Indeed, the number of months with Allāh is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allāh [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred.” [Quran 9:36] The significance of Muharram is further emphasised by this hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:   The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu al-Qa‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and al-Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha‘ban.” [Bukhari – 2958] Allah (SWT) and His Prophet ﷺ both declaring the sanctity of a month is reason enough for us to get into action mode and start honouring Muharram. But, and not that

#AZAADI MUBARAK

Hamid: Azadi Mubarak, bro! Javed: Humph…really, man? Hamid: Whaa…? What’s wrong? Javed: Don’t you think it’s ironic how we’re celebrating freedom when we barely have any? Inflation, unemployment, climate disasters and injustice – it’s all too much! Javed: My teachers were right. There’s no use wasting myself here.  Hamid: You’re…you’re leaving?  Javed: Yeah, man. I’ve applied for my visa. So should you! Hamid: Hey, I’m never gonna leave my country! Javed: Seriously? You’ll waste yourself here too, bro? Hamid: Javed! Do you really think Allah SWT will let Pakistan sink for nothing?  Javed: Well…pfft…I mean… Hamid: Think about it, bro! We all know how many people sacrificed everything so that Muslims could have a safe place to call home. Think about all the forces that were against Pakistan since the very beginning. So many wanted us gone, yet we’re still here. Javed: I guess…but maybe not for long! Hamid: Bro, I get it. Running away from Pakistan may save your skin, but it won’t solve the problem.   Javed: Then what on earth will?! Hamid: Hmm. You know why machines stop working? When they’re used for something that isn’t their purpose.  Javed: Ugh! Don’t get all philosophical on me! H: What I mean is, Pakistan was made so that we could practice Islam in peace. So that Islamic ideology could be preserved.  J: Hah. Tell that to the film and music industry! And to those who have gone as far as to preach LGBT rights!  H: You see? Pakistan

Don’t Let Your Desires Control You #QuittingAddiction

What makes the lives of Gen Z “bussin’” is chilling out with friends, partying all night, blowing away worries in the smoke of cigarettes, shisha, and whatnot, killing boredom with Netflix, and showcasing it all on social media to cultivate a “cool” image, as if living a high-key life. Today’s culture can be summed up as all-consuming, corrupting, seductive, and deceptive. The world has become dopaminergic, with people mindlessly pursuing instant gratification in almost every aspect of life. Whether it’s psychological or physical needs, we’ve conditioned our minds to seek instantaneous pleasure. As there is no straight line to success, there are no shortcut ways to meet our needs and live our lives. But it is a sorry state of affairs that we tend to look for shortcuts and temporary ways to satisfy our desires. Marriage is considered a huge responsibility, whereas dating is an easy way to meet physical needs. Instead of confronting life’s challenges head-on, we resort to drugs to escape reality. Pornography is our go-to source of pleasure, rather than spending quality time with family. These things have been marketed and sugar coated on all media platforms, to the extent that they have become normal and are no longer considered taboos by the youth. The repercussions of this modernity are evident: our hearts have become slaves to various forces that dominate our minds. Addictions to social media, digital devices, Netflix, sexual content, and drugs have engulfed society at all levels. Addiction is similar to a trap

Barzakh-Looking Beyond the #FawadSanam Charm!

Knock! Knock! Familiar faces and a hit jori (couple) making us nostalgic, Barzakh comes in the disguise of your drawing room dramas, ever ready to take a place inside your home. But when an agenda knocks on our doors, do we welcome it inside? With the flashy cinematography, scenic Northern settings and a hefty budget, it’s trying so hard to break through, but wait! There is something filthy inside the fancy packaging and here we unpack all the reasons why our doors should remain shut tight. Unabashed vulgarity of the sort that we can not imagine on Pakistani platforms is what this viral drama is spreading. It takes it up a notch with nudity, kissing scenes, homosexuality, paedophilia, necrophilia and what not! It is a bid to normalise the sort of filth we have never seen before nor expect from the Pakistani media industry. This is how masses are desensitised and such content gradually becomes more and more acceptable. With Barzakh taking things several notches up, will this be the start of a new era?  Breaking Borders Well, if it is all so bad as we say, you may wonder, “How is such vulgarity even being allowed on Pakistani screens? Isn’t our censorship board taking care of it?” Well, the crafty crew has taken a way round it. Despite a heavily Pakistani cast and being shot in Pakistan, this drama has broken through a backdoor: an Indian TV channel. This is how they surpass the censorship board – and

GENZ – 10 Proven facts about us!

Born into a highly digitalized world with a massive bombardment of information and countless distractions, Generation Z is considered the smartest of all previous generations. According to the Pew Research Center, this cohort includes those born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s. With distinct characteristics and demands, Gen Zers are highly passionate yet sometimes perceived as lazy, setting huge goals while seeking the easiest possible ways to achieve them. In this article, we will discuss 10 proven facts about Gen Z that make it stand out among other generations. We Are Digital Natives One of the most notable facts about our generation is our seamless access to the digital world. We play with gadgets instead of toys, and a wealth of information is our tool to survive in this demanding world. However, social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook can also be major time-wasters. Additionally, while digitalization has shortened distances and made online connections easier, it has also led to a loss of on-ground connections with our families and friends, as we often find ourselves lost behind screens. We Have Our Opinions and Love to Express Them Gen Zers are open-minded and welcome diverse opinions, but we also have our own strong voices on various issues. We build our opinions based on our beliefs and express them fearlessly in all arenas—whether at home, school, or university. Moreover, we are social media warriors. Whether raising awareness for an ongoing issue or fundraising for someone in need, we take to our

The Epitome Of Devotion & Sacrifice:Prophet Ibrahim (AS)

“And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them……….”  [Quran 2:124] Tested Through His Own Father “[His father] said, “Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time.” [Quran 19:46] The Great Fire “They said, “(O people) burn him and help your gods, if you are to take action. [Quran 21:68] Leaving His Family In The Middle Of Nowhere  Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated,  “He (Ibrahim) made them sit over there (near the Ka’bah) and placed near them a leather bag containing some dates, and a small water-skin containing some water, and he set out homeward. Ismail’s mother followed him saying, “O Ibrahim! Where are you going, leaving us in this valley where there is no person whose company we may enjoy, nor is there anything (to enjoy)?” She repeated that to him many times, but he did not look back at her. Then she asked him, ”Has Allah ordered you to do?” He said, “Yes”. She said, ”Then He will not neglect us“, and returned, while Ibrahim proceeded onwards…” [Tafsir Ibn Kathir] Sacrifice of His Beloved Son, Prophet Ismail (AS)  “Thereafter, when he (the boy) reached an age in which he could work with him, he (Ibrāhīm) said, “O my little son, I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so consider, what is your opinion?” He said, “O my dear father,
