Weekly Wrap Up: MWA — Conspiracy Theories

From classics like the Bermuda Triangle to modern mysteries like Area 51, dive into such similar conspiracy theories in the latest episode of MWA.  Amidst the current world happenings, one thing is clearer than ever: the rule of divide and conquer. Israel and America are up for any support that can help them destabilise the Middle East to divert the masse’s attention from their dirty agendas. Another reason is also the constant pressure/challenges, including the erosion of their once-sophisticated reputation, PR setbacks, share devaluation due to boycotts and protests, and legal challenges at the International Court of Justice. These factors are collectively getting them a direct hit. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial to recognise the need for sustained efforts. Boycotts and social media campaigns are making an impact, and our voices must not be silent. Awareness should be spread more than ever. Remember: we must not become the #hashtag generation but the go-getters, the action doers, the we-will-do-it-till-our-last-breath kinda individuals.  This week’s question was regarding Tawakul. Understand that life is a test. Trials and tribulations are part and parcel. Our visions are limited, but Allah (SWT) is Al-Hakeem. Things may not always go according to plan, but Allah (SWT) is the Best of Planners.  A great self talk: حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ Translation: Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god worthy of worship except Him. In Him I put my trust. And He is the Lord

Allah (SWT) Does Not Answer My Prayers

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Indeed the supplication is the worship.” Then he recited: “And your Lord said: Invoke Me, I will respond to you.” [Ibn Majah — 3828].  This hadith should be sufficient to encourage a Muslim seeking reward and connection with their Lord to immerse themselves in the noble act of supplication. However, in today’s world of instant gratification, we become disheartened if we do not immediately see the results we hoped to achieve through our dua. Have you stopped to wonder, though, what the acceptance of dua truly means? Abu Sa’eed reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any du’aa’ in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his du’aa’ sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.”  Now, consider it from a different perspective: would you rather have your dua accepted now and reap the temporary benefits, or would you prefer to have it stored in the permanent bank of the akhirah? Or, have a terrible calamity stop right in its tracks just because of your supplication? The answer is clear. In other words, instead of thinking that your dua is going to waste, consider that Allah (SWT) may have something much better in store for you. Also, there are certain conditions

Conquering 2024 One Step At A Time – How YC Planner Can Help

Hey there, goal-getters!  Imagine you’re a gardener. Consistency is your watering can. You wouldn’t drown your plants with gallons of water once a month, right? The steady flow, a sprinkle here and there, nurtures growth. It’s the same with your goals – a consistent effort paves success! Let’s talk workouts, for instance. A gruelling 6-hour overload once a month vs a daily 20-minute sesh. It’s not about burning out but building up, day after day. Food is our weakness, and healthy eating does not really appeal to our #desi palettes. But here’s the thing! Opting for a balanced diet daily is better than a weekend binge on salads. It’s about creating a healthier you, one meal at a time! “I aspire to become a social media influencer in 2024”. Okay, that’s great! A quick tip: instead of dropping content bombs, switch to an every-two-day posting streak. Keep it consistent; keep it cool. Your online vibe is your personal style – keep it fresh!  Financial freedom, anyone? Trust me when I say it’s a game of small wins. Saving Rs. 50 every day adds up quicker than sporadically dropping Rs. 200. Your wallet will thank you, one rupee at a time. In a world with gruelling competition — a degree isn’t just enough. RPA or Digital Marketing. Animation or Public Speaking, SEO or Copywriting. The fact is, we need some skills and acquiring them is a journey. Spending 20-30 minutes each day is much more impactful than an eight-hour weekend

Winter Escapades — Top 5 Enchanting Destinations To Visit This Year!

One of the most common phrases heard these days comes from exhausted students, disgruntled employees, and stressed out parents alike: “Give me a break”. But have you ever thought, what kind of break? Perhaps taking a nap, scrolling on social media, or bingeing online videos isn’t refreshing enough.  Are you looking for something that will truly enchant your eyes, strengthen your soul, and help you make amazing memories? Look no further: travelling is the dose you need!  Allah (SWT) mentions in Surah Ankaboot,  “Say: Travel in the land and see how (Allah) originated the creation, and then Allah will bring forth the creation of the Hereafter. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things” [Quran 29:20] This ayah demonstrates the true essence of travelling for a Muslim, which is to ponder and reflect upon the greatness of Allah (SWT) ‘s creation and enjoy the magnificence of his universe.  Travelling is a source of tranquillity for the eyes, faith for the heart, and rest and relaxation for the mind. Planning your journey with loved ones can further enhance the experience as you can make valuable memories and cherish quality time together in a peaceful environment. The next question you may ask could be: where to travel? Well, here are five worthwhile destinations to visit this winter: Situated just an hour outside Islamabad, Dakhain Waterfall is one of the most stunning pieces of nature. Despite the rocky trail, reaching the waterfall takes no longer than a half-hour hike. Once you get

Weekly Wrap-UP! The Holiday season 23.12.23

In order to modernise, we need to Westernise. This is the very standard of #taraqi nowadays. The muddy illusions that progress can never be achieved until we start copying the Western lifestyle, which comes with a mix of alcohol, drugs, nudity, adultery, fornication, a broken family system, hedonism and more.  “It’s all because of which they have succeeded”. Arguments like these prevail among the elite, who try to justify the vices and make room to satisfy their own desires. Watch the full episode to unravel what more has become of the definition of progress today.  Like every year, the month of December never fails to call for festivities. However, do we really have a reason to celebrate? Seeing it from a heart engraved with the pain of Palestinians, it’s a definite no. In case some people don’t stand on that list, then there’s more. Celebrating something which will straightaway take you to SHIRK. Yes, we are talking Christmas. If you are one of those still considering it a sweet, little cosy festival—boy, you’ve been mistaken. Wondering how? Let us help you navigate. First things first: when Christians celebrate Christmas, they commemorate the birth of Hazrat Isa (AS). However, there’s no evidence, let us repeat: no evidence that Prophet Isa (AS) was born on December 25th. In fact, the practising Christian scholars present the probability of him being born in the warmer month based on biblical events. Secondly, celebrating/wishing someone Merry Christmas is like contributing yourself to the Christian belief

Title: YC Blog’s Top 8 Of 2023 – The Year We Dreamt, Dared, and Delivered!

Women can be anything”, but being a mother… ugh, boring! What can be more useless than nurturing human life? The blog post received widespread attention, amassing 7915+ likes, as readers delved into the unexpected political conversations ignited by one of the highest grossing movies of 2023, having witnessed Barbie as a symbol of rebellion against moral and societal values. The most popular dialogues in the recent episode show Sarang’s supportive father encouraging him to adopt the gender that he wants when he grows up. The manipulative disguise of USAID funded, Sar-e-Rah. While Sarang’s father gave off the best-daddy vibes, the post highlighted how Sar-e-Rah could have done better in depicting him as someone empowered enough to provide the medical care and religious guidelines to his son to live a dignified life. The depression that has slowly been gnawing away at me has finally overtook me. Becoming famous was probably not my life. It’s funny I was able to endure this much. (An excerpt from Kim Jong-hyun’s suicidal note)  This revelatory post delved deep into the unforgiving realities of the K-pop world, laying bare the life-long struggles, painstaking sacrifices, and cut-throat challenges that artists endure on their journey to fame.  Match night with friends? How often have we experienced azaans being called out while people remain oblivious? Or, mothers urgently calling their sons only to hear stuff like ‘ammi match k beech mai kese jaun’? Stood out in the year’s blog highlights, not just for its cricket commentary but for

10 Years Of WOC

A Memoir By YC Speaker Nadeem Ashraf The Winds of Change (WOC), embarked upon in 2012, has been nothing short of a transformative journey, leaving an ever-lasting impact on countless lives. From the heart of Pakistan to the global stage, WOC has emerged as a beacon of positive change, shaping the minds of thousands through lectures, workshops, events, and stalls. 2012 — that’s where it all starts! The tour featured the dynamic duo, Hamza Tzortzis and Adnan Rashid. Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and SIST became the canvas for multiple enlightening sessions at schools and universities. The SHOWSTOPPER? Hamza Tzortzis vs Professor Hoodhbhoy and a debate with a Christian Bishop in Faisalabad, ft Adnan Rashid at LUMS. Fun fact: Raja Zia ul Haq was both cameraman & driver! My role was to pick up equipment 🙂 Indeed, a memorable first tour. Personally, it reawakened the love of dawah within me after years! WOC 2012 turned out to be supremely successful. Fast forward to 2013, where Imran Ibn Mansur, Yusuf Chambers, and Adnan Rashid took the stage in Lahore and Islamabad. Adnan Rashid spoke to teenagers at a college in Islamabad breaking away from his usual academic style, and went almost full blown stand up comedy. Imran Mansur surprised everyone with his passion and style. Yusuf Chambers jokes impressed local desi uncles. Kuch Khaas was another specially devised event.  The WOC saga continued in 2014. Dear Palestine

I am consumed these days Thinking about you Crying for you Making dua for you I have never met you Never seen you Never spoken to you Yet … when I hold a glass of water A loaf of bread See my house Look at the roads The life The hustle and bustle I see you! I wish I was with you. I wish I could give it all to you. I wish I was there with you in the battlefield Holding the crying babies Consoling the old Being there in the hospital Helping doctors The medics Or taking kids out of the rubble I wish I could go and live in Gaza But I know I can’t I know I won’t But you will continue to live … Continue to struggle Continue to resist Because you are the chosen ones by Allah He chose you over us Because He knows we are weak We will not be able to hold We might get scared We might not smile and probably say Hasbunallahu Wa Ni’mal Wakeel – حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَ كِيلُ in difficult times! We might not be patient But you are … I wish I hope I pray We all become as resilient As courageous As brave as you are But for now – we can only stay where we are and Look at you With Pride With honour Your beaming eyes Your wide smiles Your victory signs Holding your flags Holding our religion high Yes

Weekly Wrap Up! War crimes 21.10.23

The advocates of human welfare, pioneers of inclusivity, forefronters of tolerance and believers of freedom of speech, may I ask you a simple question — why? Over the course of the last two weeks, what we are witnessing as a generation is not far from existing in a nightmare. The numbers speak for themselves: over 6,000 bombs, millions of airstrikes, the horrifying use of white phosphorus, the desecration of the deceased, and the severe deprivation of basic necessities for countless civilians, with a death toll relentlessly climbing. It’s more than words can explain; a brutal genocide, an implanted war crime, a deliberate mass erasure. Yet, we see the Western media, with our own eyes — all biassed. Policies are swayed, laws are circumvented, official coverage is notably skewed, and even influential figures take positions detached from the context of human rights. Adding to the complexity of the situation is the inaction of many Muslim-majority nations. The question that looms is whether the time for collective action has not already arrived. As Muslims, we are part of one body, and it is high time we set aside our differences. Truly, what unites us is far more significant than what divides us. Our shared identity holds immense power. It is this unity that those who wish to suppress us fear the most. Allah (SWT) is giving us signs. It’s time we start anew, writing the chapter of our lives inked in the teachings of Islam, etched in the foundations of taqwa.

Jerusalem’s Jewel: Beyond Stone and Mortar

Did you know that Al-Aqsa was the second mosque ever to be built in the world? Or that there isn’t even a handspan of Jerusalem where an angel or prophet hasn’t prostrated? Well here’s a refresher class on what makes Al-Quds the OG holy site and Al-Aqsa its charm. Going back to the basics should really make it hit home when we hear about them in the unfolding news. We are meant to revere these sites with all our heart and soul and guard them accordingly.  Established since…the beginning of humanity?  The legacy of Al-Aqsa goes way back, even before the time of Hazrat Suleiman(AS) who had it rebuilt. It is one of the most ancient mosques and fortunately, even exists today. Spanning over eras, it has undergone the rule of many conquerors in an interplay of religious and political powers. It has been converted to a Roman temple, military headquarters and even a church. Its establishment as a mosque that it was always meant to be is now all the more significant to uphold its original identity. Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, which mosque was built on earth first?’ He said, ‘Al-Masjid al-Haram [in Makkah].’ I said, ‘Then which?’ He said, ‘Al-Masjid al-Aqsa.’ I said, ‘How much time was there between them?’ He said, ‘Forty years. So wherever you are when the time for prayer comes, pray, for that is the best thing to do.’”  [Narrated by al-Bukhari,

Palestine will be Free!

A glass bottle filled with gasoline, set alight and hurled towards the enemy. The thrower wears combat fatigues and a badge of yellow and blue. His act is applauded as courageous Ukrainian resistance. Let’s change the thrower’s skin color, deepening it to a rich bronze. He’s dressed in a tattered t-shirt and kuffiyeh, now holding a small rock instead of a flaming molotov. Hurling it towards an enemy tank fifty times his size. Yet now, the world decries him as a terrorist. We, the Ummah, watch our brothers in Palestine heroically resist their occupiers once more, on a scale never seen before. Through a multi-pronged attack over land, water, and even air, they took the colonizers by surprise, reclaiming their stolen land, bulldozing ugly apartheid walls and taking many IDF soldiers as prisoners. While we ecstatically cheer them on, we also hold our breath and desperately pray for them as the Zionists promise to ‘give them hell’. As if they aren’t already living that hell. As if for the past decades the colonizers haven’t violently dispossessed them of their land, killed their families, caged them like animals, and blasphemed the sanctity of Al-Aqsa over and over. As if their goal, from the beginning, wasn’t already genocide, ethnic cleansing, and a war against Islam. But you know what? We know how this ends. “Do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are believers.” [3:139] Al-Aqsa WILL be ours. Jerusalem WILL be liberated. Palestine WILL

Palestine – How can we help?

God does not change the condition of a people unless they change what is in themselves” – Quran [13:11]. Indeed, the choices we make have far-reaching consequences, and our actions, whether good or bad, can impact not only ourselves but also those around us, including our Muslim brothers and sisters. As we scroll through screens, witnessing the hardships and tragedies, mourning for their losses, know that we cannot simply return to our routines with no change, no remorse, and no action. Open your eyes and see the world as it truly is. Recognise that the suffering of others could one day be your own. None of us are immune to the trials of life, and we must stand together in solidarity. The time for change is now. We cannot afford to delay any longer. Let our actions speak louder than our words. Let us be the source of hope and support for our fellow Muslims. Let us be the change we wish to see in the world, and in doing so, we can make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.
