Weekly Wrap-up! University Scandal Bahawalpur 29.07.23

Incident at Bahawalpur Islamia University: 5500 video clips of female students from Islamia University shared on porn sites. As investigations continue, it has come to light that numerous people from the university’s management were involved in this reprehensible blackmailing ring. The question arises, was this just a mere incident, or was it an accident waiting to happen? On one side where we condemn the corrupt mechanisms of our educational system, we can’t just ignore the inappropriate culture fostered in our universities. With the free mixing of opposite genders, dance parties, prom nights, and New Year’s Eve celebrations, it’s like putting oil and fire together. Allowing men and women to coexist in such settings, giving them opportunities to go astray and then expecting them to remain naive or disciplined is nothing but a recipe for disaster.  And yes, how can we forget those cringy love tales, bad boy novels, and to top it all off — the Western influence, social media bombardment and the tik tok trends that further blur the line between fiction and reality, where girls and boys finally get to live out what was once just a mere theory. Oftentimes, the pressure of getting good grades also leads to vulnerability and exploitation by teachers who manipulate students with promises of good numbers. Understand that getting grades is not the end of the world and certainly not at the cost of your mental health, inner satisfaction and imaan.  A tip of the iceberg: this is just one incident

Pink, Pretty, Politics!

UNVEILING BARBIE’S DARK AGENDA Good ole Stereotypical Barbie: your sexualised, capitalist icon promoting mindless consumerism and unrealistic beauty standards. Has #Mattel’s “blond, bimbo girl” finally got a change of heart? Or is it just “in a fantasy world” that we can expect her to fuel positive change? Yes, “Barbie changed everything!!” but probably not in the way you’d expect. Here are 3 political convos Barbie stepped into: 1- Baby dolls are smashed dead and YEETED to space now that Barbie’s here. “Women can be anything”, but being a mother… ugh, boring! What can be more useless than nurturing human life? Especially when it doesn’t fuel capitalistic corporations. See Barbie? She lets her love for materialism lead her life. She’s got “her own money, her own house, her own car, her own jewellery”, cos’ remember, these are the most important things in life. Caring for babies just doesn’t fit into the hedonistic scheme of making it all about you. CHEUGY! 2- Oo, the Man of the Movie award goes to… our very own Allan! He dresses in rainbows, dances like a girl and says he’d beat – oh, we mean beach – off other Kens. Was that a not-so-subtle reference to homosexual masturbation? It all goes as long as you’re woke! Of course, we’d be loving him as all the Barbies did. After all, as the film poster says, “There’s only one Allan!” 3- That’s what you are if you don’t stick to Alpha Girl rule 1: do NOT simp

Weekly Wrap-Up! Troublesome Teenagers 22.07.23

This week, teenagers — the talk of the town! How often do we hear them say, “Oh, come on, I know everything”? With confidence oh-so-cool that tiptoes the line between self-assuredness and arrogance, high energy, surging emotions, limited knowledge, and a lot to prove, today’s teenagers wrap themselves around in a false sense of fulfilment, wanting to get noticed or heard. While acknowledging the fact that growth factors, puberty, hormonal changes, and chemical imbalances contribute to the disturbing attitudes seen in teenagers, the real question lies in how to navigate them effectively. Here, parents play a pivotal role in this journey, and it all begins with genuine understanding. By taking the time to comprehend the intricacies of their teenagers’ emotions and experiences, parents can build a foundation of trust and support. Once this connection is established, channelling their energies in positive directions is the next step. In doing so, it is essential to distinguish between appreciation and empty praise. Expressing love and respect is also key, as it helps insulate teenagers from seeking validation from unhealthy sources. Striking a balance between rewards and consequences is also vital, teaching them moderation and responsibility.  In addition, providing them with a holistic approach to life by immersing them in the inspiring stories of Muslim heroes and role models. Studying their trials and triumphs instils a sense of purpose and guidance, showing how devotion to Allah (SWT) can lead to greatness. Educating them about the realities of Jannah (paradise) and Jahannam (hell) also

The Significance of Ashura

Many people don’t know this but the 10th of Muharram or Youm e Ashura (Day of Ashura) holds similar significance for all Muslims. In fact, Ashura has been an important event even before Islam when the Quraish of Makkah and Jews of Madina revered it for reasons you will learn about soon. Did you know Prophet Muhammad (SAW) fasted on Ashura, even when he was not made a Prophet? That’s right. Mother of the believers Aisha (RA) said: “During the pre-Islamic period of ignorance the Quraish used to observe fasting on the day of ‘Ashura’, and the Prophet (SAW) himself used to observe fasting on it too.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari – 4504] The fact that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself fasted on Ashura and the Quraish did it too, even before Islam, shows that this day held significance in a culture that had its origin rooted in the Abrahamic era, highlighting that 10th of Muharram may have been sacred during the time of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) as well. According to another well-known hadith from Musnad Ahmad, we learn that Prophet Nuh (AS) got relief from 950 years of hardship in Muharram when his ark landed on the mountain on the day we now know as Ashura. This hadith may be weak, but in another authentic narration from Sahih Al-Bukhari, we learn that when Prophet Muhammad (SAW) migrated to Madina, he saw that the Jews fasted on the day of Ashura saying it was the day Prophet Musa (AS) got victory over

Weekly Wrap-up! Gay Nikkah 15.07.23

Worst of the Worst: a Muslim biological male identifying as a woman tied the knot with another non-Muslim biological male with the support of MPV. Echoed with the recitation of Surah Fatiha, the ceremony featured rainbow-coloured themes. Such an utter blasphemy of Islamic values and the nikkah itself has brought in major backlash from the Muslim community. News of the Week: Miss Beauty Queen OR Mr Beauty Queen? A biological male identifying as a woman wins the Miss Netherlands crown! Surely, what could be more representative of true female beauty than a biological male, right? Good thing the global outrage was electrifying in response to this absolute nonsense! Puncture of the Week: Pakistani man claims to be Imam Mahdi, says he has real dreams. A psychological issue or publicity stunt, we are not sure! Seems like all you need these days is a vivid dream, and voila! You’ll become the chosen one overnight! May Allah (SWT) protect our ummah from imposters, ameen. Satan — his only weapon: Experience and Patience! Four major tests: faith, wealth, knowledge and power. Shield yourself with Surah Kahf!  Call MWA: children’s storybooks and school supplies — no longer safe! Perfectly masked into the curriculums with six-coloured rainbows instead of seven, the agenda is operating in full swing.  Human rights champion — so-called! Israel dictates Pakistan directly and, for the first time! Condemns non-LGBTQ stance and more! Honestly, from a territory founded on mass murders, ideological warfare, illegal occupation and anything but human rights, #sorrynotsorry,

Weekly Wrap-Up! ft. MWA – The Satanic Plan

From Footballers to Swedish Communities:  Voices Unite Against Quran Burning Worldwide  Muslims and Christian Allies:  Standing Together Against The LGBTQ Agenda  Shedding Light on Child Trafficking:  Unveiling the Dark Reality Of The Filthy Industry  Palestine Under Fire: The On-going Struggles and Call for Justice  For Our Muslim Brothers & Sisters Amidst the heart-wrenching latest incident of Quran burning in Sweden, there is a beacon of light in the fact that there has been a global condemnation of the act. In the unity of Muslim footballers and the Swedish community itself, there’s an example for us of how raising our voices against such anti-Islamic agendas should never stop, no matter how hard they try to strike us with the arrows of desensitisation.   Another good news is coming your way: Muslims and Christians are coming together like never before, joining hands against the acceleration of the LGBTQ agenda. The unprecedented push of LGBTQ parades, explicit content, and media targeting kids of all ages has awakened Western societies, concerned parents and even pro-homosexual and lesbian groups. Speaking out against making children a part of such putrid ideologies, their chants go loud and clear: “Leave our kids alone!” Before moving on to the serious stuff, let’s have a bit of a chuckle, shall we? This week in the Break the Ice segment, Ahmed Khan stole the show for his reading abilities, oh wait, not just reading — but the fastest reading skills in all of YC. A round of applause for that!  This

Anticipating Rain

Dark clouds, cool wind, and the sweet smell of wet sand – what comes to mind when you read all of this? Monsoon? That’s right!  Monsoon is all about beautiful weather, scenic skies, and of course a plate of hot pakoray as soon as it starts raining.  But as you pull out your wipers to make sure there’s no water sitting on the roof and decide where the laundry is going to dry as it rains, take a moment to reflect on whether the rainy season should be all about enjoyment or if we can take it as an opportunity to get close to Allah SWT?  Rain is considered a blessing from our Merciful Rabb. And as Allah’s blessing and mercy descend from the sky above, we know that the duas we make ascend towards the heavens and reach Allah SWT with high chances of acceptance. Why not capitalize on this moment and make the duas that you yearn to be accepted?  The Monsoon season can also be an exciting time to take small breaks here and there and use them to reflect on Allah’s creations, His Laws, and of course, His signs.  Moreover, since Allah’s mercy is already and quite literally raining down on us, we can also seize this opportunity to increase in seeking Allah’s forgiveness and repent for the sins we have committed. Because this is a time when duas are readily accepted, we might come out of the monsoon season as clean and fresh as

In the Shadows of Mount Arafat

Last year, around this time, I was in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. As the blessed days of Zil Hajj enter upon us again, the beautiful memories of last year are flashing before my eyes. When I came back from Hajj, I penned some thoughts and observations that had been floating around in my mind during these days. Initially, these were meant to serve as a personal reminder only, but now I am sharing some of these pages with you in the hope that they might benefit the readers. For me, one of the greatest take-home lessons from Hajj was learning to be patient. Sabr is the fuel we need to face all kinds of situations in the journey of life. I remember an old lady who was our companion in Mina. She was quite ill and had difficulty walking and even breathing. But you would never get to know it from the graceful manner in which she conducted herself. She never complained nor announced her grievances openly. Whenever I saw her, I was reminded of the concept of Sabrun Jameelun (beautiful patience) In Muzdalifah, circumstances made us sleep on a narrow spot on the footpath under a bridge. There was traffic, smoke and horns all around. Pedestrians of all ages and nationalities were passing by, but we lay there peacefully. I lay there – in public, under the open sky- just because I was following Allah (SWT)’s command to spend the night there. This was a powerful lesson

Hajj: Where Hearts Ascend and Faith Transcends!

We are getting closer to what may be regarded as the most significant event in the Muslim calendar. Hajj! Muslims all over the world look forward to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and honour the days of Hajj, whether they are performing it or not. But why is Hajj as significant as it is? The importance of Hajj has been emphasised in the Quran and Sunnah, so it carries huge weight in Islam. Whoever performs Hajj with all its dues and rites and the right intention comes back as sinless and pure as a newborn baby. So, is it the huge reward that makes Hajj significant? Yes. But there’s more to it.

Our Sister Aafia – A forgotten duty

Pakistan Earthquake – What do we do when the Earth shakes?

A few moments ago, many of us experienced an earthquake. Our good-old, reliable earth that we take for granted was shifting and lurching beneath our feet, rattling our windows and furniture. Our hearts jumping up into our throats. No matter how big a firaun or saintly a worshipper one is, it took just a split second for us to realise: it’s out of our hands. This is Allah (SWT)’s Power. This happened with His Command, and may He Forbid, out of His Anger. Let us ponder upon just two things after this enormous sign. Firstly, what were we doing at the time of the earthquake? Had our time come then, would we have been satisfied? As the Hadith says, “Verily the deeds done, depend upon the last actions.” (Bukhari – 6493). Were we praying, reading Quran, or at least doing something productive? Or were we scrolling TikTok, watching haram videos or listening to music? Secondly, what do we do next? The answer is istighfar, istighfar, and more istighfar. Repentance is a sure protection against calamities. With every shift of the ground beneath us, we saw our lives flash before our eyes. Let us not turn a blind eye to this huge warning from our Creator. Let us resolve from this very moment, “Ya Allah, ainda nahi”. From now on, we sincerely repent. From now on, we will live a life that will be befitting of a good ending. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on us, forgive us, and protect
